Guys Lunch Day

The next day the women take over and the guys go out. Male bonding takes place during a big meal and often a trip to the local country hardware store. You can adapt these ideas to fit your time together. For instance, for a one-day gathering, the guys might go out for breakfast and the gals go out for lunch.

Adult Meals

For Family Camp, we have adult-only dinners after the kids have eaten. Our adult children decide who is cooking what, and the cook of the day prepares a nice meal. Most of my children like to cook or married cooks. They didn’t get that from me! We eat in a shelter about fifty yards from the house, mainly for the quiet. The kids are told not to interrupt us unless it’s an emergency. These adult meals include a time of sharing. Each couple shares the blessings and challenges of their past year and the things for which they need prayer. When they finish we pray over that couple. This enables us to go deeper in our relationships. It’s a very precious time that has become more natural over the years.

For your gathering, you can have different adult and children’s meals as appropriate for the ages of your family.
